Writing Complete Stories

Memory keeping is the driving force behind every scrapbook layout that Close to My Heart puts together to show you. A key component to all of these pages is the written story that goes along with the beautiful artwork. It is all too easy to simply not include any or not enough journaling, but your complete story matters!
When you’ve got pictures that don’t completely tell a story—which, let’s be honest, that’s most all of the time—it’s so valuable to take the time to write about everything that happened in the background leading up to the moment captured on camera.
Today, we are celebrating birthdays with a few fun examples of how to incorporate a lot of journaling without bogging down your pages.

A few ideas from this layout: don’t be afraid to add journaling right next to your title! This can be a quick explanation of what the pictures are really about. In our example, this little boy was supposed to be setting up for his birthday party but insisted on making sure that the bubbles and blowers were all in working order.
Adding either a numbered or bulleted list is another quick and simple way to make sure you get all of the details in of what you want to remember without writing an entire essay. In this layout, we used a numbered list that coordinates with each numbered photo.

This really cute layout, like the page below, has more journaling than meets the eye! When you have more to say than what you want to see or display, add it on some tabbed journaling cards and tuck them behind one of the pieces of the page.

Hello good friends!!  I am super excited to announce that I have finally finished my Chelsea Gardens card making kits.  :) I have two kits and I have to tell you -- they are adorable.  Chelsea Gardens is a new product line in the Seasonal Expressions 1 book that just debuted from Close to My Heart. It has a springy, natural feel to it.  It is so refreshing with its cool colors and tranquil patterns.  The colors in this line include charcoal, fern, glacier, heather, juniper, mink, sweet leaf, and white daisy. Let's take a look at each kit: Kit #1 Omgee I loooove the bold flower pattern on this last one! And here is Kit #2 . . .  This is my favorite in kit 2.  Just look at how those flowers peek-a-boo out of the card. Smitten Cardmaking Kit
