Hello Friend

Image
This card makes my heart sing! Those hues of goldrush and sapphire just complement each other perfectly.  The paper pieced butterfly is just the icing on the cake! I love the dots on the wings that add such unique detail.  Stapling the twine to the card front is a wonderful trick I learned from a fellow consultant.  It's so much easier than trying to tie it and it gives it a rustic appeal, don't ya think?   Recipe: Espresso:  4 x 5.25 White:  3.25 x 2.25 Yellow:  .5 x 3.25 Gold Foil:  3.25 x .25 Blue:  1.5 x 3.25 Make sure to visit my CTMH website to take a look at all the great products and promotions going on.  Also check out my Ebay store to see my discounted pre-cut card kits and other goodies. Sneak Peek

Image
How about a sneak peek at one of the cards that will be featured in my Grateful Heart pre-cut card kits!  I am about halfway through creating this card kit and let me tell you, it is awesome!  I am so in love with each one. :) Here is the first card I created for this kit . . .  Omgee, would ya look at those colors!  The butterfly is paper pieced which makes the wings look so vibrant and 3D.  I have been putting the gold foil paper in many kits because it is so shiny and makes the cards so unique.  The colors in this palette are exquisite and I can't wait to share more with you.  Stay tuned . . .  Make sure to visit my ebay store to see what kits I have for sale right now.  I am trying to clean house so I can create more great kits this winter. :)) XOXO Shauna

8 Ways to Add Color to Your Stamping

Image
As you know, we live and breathe stamps here at Close To My Heart. They are where we got our start many years ago, and to this day we just simply can’t get enough of them! And from what we can gather, we are not alone in this  obsession   hobby !  With care, you place your stamp on your block, prudently ink it with a color that you carefully selected just minutes ( if not days ) before, then press it to your paper and upon removing the block your image looks as perfectly crisp as you planned for. The next step in the creation process of this new image is to breathe life into it with some color. We’ve taken one of our many ( many ) favorite stamp sets,  My Acrylix ®   Bunches of Love , from the  Holiday Expressions catalog to illustrate some stamp coloring options. Each is unique in it’s own way and, depending on what you’re looking to achieve, has a place in your coloring spectrum. For comparison purposes, we’ve kept the mediums separate, but by all means do combine them
